New Trainz Eastern Routes (TER) Fansite Is Gaining Popularity
December 20th, 2009 Posted in Internet, News, TrainzSome of you may remember a news report I wrote back in March 2009 about the business practices of Trainz Eastern Routes (TER) and the morale character of its founder and CEO, John Bethuy (Grogstop65)…

I am happy to report to you that a new TER fansite, called Trainz Eastern Route.com, is quickly growing in popularity. Notice that the new site is singular, not plural as is the original website.
Trainz veterans and newcomers can find useful information about TER and its management that could be considered critical to making intelligent decisions about pursuing one’s hobby.
There is also a nice forum for exchanging experiences, ideas and thoughts related to John Bethuy’s business.

It is a mature, honest outlet for sharing information about a member of the Trainz Community wishing to do business with you or possibly your children.
GAUX Adds: This site is definitely recommended reading for Trainz hobbyists… decide for your yourself.

It is also a nice website to pick up a few routes. My updated CP Slocan Lake sub is currently available for download. Just check out the thread for it in the freeware section of Auran’s forum for the dependencies.

Well, it got pretty immature, my defense of JohnB has pretty much gotten both myself & Red banned from Auran…
The so-called “new” name seams like an imitation of the original somehow.
JohnB & I are in the process of a supper route for the NS.
I’m taking a commercial license for TransDEM Trainz Edition & well intend to make use of it for Auran Trainz Railroad Simulator for both TRS2004 & TS2009.
JohnB has a talent for scenery, my talent is track & signal.
Currently this route supports seven or eight trains at a time, so hone your operating & dispatching skills!

Allen, no one doubts your skill. You are truly an artist in your own right. I am certain anything you have a hand in creating will be a masterpiece.
The problem is that John (and TER) are masterpieces of another sort. It is unfortunate that your blind defense of them makes you a part of that.
Your biggest obstacle is going to be your association. But God bless you for your loyalty; only my dog impresses me more.
As for Auran and the TransDEM version of Trainz… I seem to remember a specific member of GAURC inventing that concept and fighting the original battle.
So you take your license, enjoy it, and try not to forget who spoon-fed that freedom to the Trainz Community.
Auran, of course, will continue to profit off the ideas and labor of its followers. If you are lucky, maybe Auran will include your route in a future release of Trainz… Sure, we will have to pay for it, but you will get nothing.
Say “Hi” to John for me, and remind him that I promised he would hear from me again at Christmas time (I didn’t forget.)

Thanks for your compliments, to have a route included in a version of Auran Trainz?
I’d pay for that!

Agreed. Just ask Phil(philensk or something like that.) He issued an appology for how his routes look in TRS2010 because they changed the track to default auran “shit track” and all of this trees to speedtrees. This meant that his ballast texture didn’t match the tracks anymore, and that the trees were in the wrong spot, or overhanging the tracks. In fact, you could say that Auran went grogstop on his route. Sorry I couldn’t resist. (I have seen pics to back up the second thing though.)
